My post just before this one was all about goals and when setting your goals it is all about trying to fulfil some really meaningful things that matter to you.
I would say in all cases when you come up with your goals they are always going to add value to yourself. Even if you don't achieve the goal, you will still learn from the experience and might even benefit from an unexpected gain.
Which got me thinking, if I was to try and fill my day full of activities that are going to add value to myself then imagine how much better I am going to feel at the end of the day?
So that is now my aim. When I set out what I want to achieve that day, I look back at my goals and then write down some activities that are going to help me towards those goals. For each one of those that I tick off the list, I am going to feel better about myself and they are going to bring me one step closer to my goal.
It is so easy to just fill your day with meaningless tasks that are not adding any value and if anything, they are going to make you feel worse about yourself at the end of the day. Social media being one of those things. Most things on social media are not going to add any value to your day, but yet it is so easy to fill up your time scrolling through Instagram, Twitter and so on.
Now I am not a robot and I will still end up being side tracked and doing activity that is not going to add value. But my aim is to try and fill up my day with as much value add activity as possible that it doesn't give me much time for anything else.
Even if I do find time to scroll through Twitter on top of completing my value add tasks, I know I am not going to feel guilty because the good outweighed the bad.
